The Jerome L. Greene Science Center is a hub for the distinguished neuroscience researchers of Columbia University’s Mortimer B. Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute. The nine-storey, 450,000-square-foot structure is the largest that Columbia has ever built and the biggest academic science building in New York City. Inviting social spaces bring faculty, scholars and students together to share ideas, hear new perspectives and generate fresh insights.
In keeping with Columbia University’s goal of creating an urban campus that connects with its surrounding neighborhood, the Manhattanville building is open to the public at ground level, where it houses a health screening facility and neuroscience education center for the West Harlem community, as well as retail stores and restaurants.
Our Role
Feature Walters’ role included detailing, fabricating and installing over 30 sets of stairs, AESS atrium bridges and hundreds of feet of AESS slab edge steel and guardrails.
