Founded in 1929 as an educational institution, The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) is often identified as one of the largest and most influential museums of modern art in the world. With extraordinary exhibitions and the world’s finest collection of modern and contemporary art, MoMA has been important in developing and collecting modernist art.
Our Role
Feature Walters designed, fabricated and installed a display casework for the Museum of Modern Arts store, which included stainless steel tables and a 19′ stainless steel vitrine. The vitrine was finished off with lighting, and included a glass front, glass shelves, and sliding glass doors in the back.

Overcoming Challenges
During fabrication of the vitrine and the tables, challenges included welding and forming the multi-faceted lower pan back into shape to correct the distortion caused by the heat of the welding. Intricate filling in of all the pit and grinding marks on the entire cabinet was necessary to deliver an exceptional and attractive product, with no visible seams, fasteners or connections as per the design intent.
